HAPPINESS

My younger sister came home from school one day and she was reciting a poem. She was so happy reciting it, in fact, she recited it all day. I later discovered her teacher had told her and her classmates that they all should be happy because they deserved it. Here’s the poem:
“Happiness is a good commodity
The more you give
The more you have
Happiness”
Do we all deserve to be happy? Is happiness for each and every one of us? I’ve been asking myself these questions recently and I finally found answers to it. Well, my answer is YES. Yes we do. We all deserve to be happy and happiness is for everyone irrespective of your age, status and gender. Your past doesn’t matter, you deserve to be happy. Now and forever.
“Sometimes pain becomes such a huge part of your life that you expect it to always be there, because you can’t remember a time in your life when it wasn’t. But then one day you feel something else, something that feels wrong, only because it’s so unfamiliar. And in that moment you realise you’re happy”- Lucas Eugene Scott (One Tree Hill 4x12).
“Tragedies happen. What’re you gonna do, give up? Quit? No. I realise now that when your heart breaks, you gotta fight like hell to make sure you’re still alive. Coz you are, and that pain you feel… its life. The confusion and fear… that’s there to remind you that somewhere out there is something better. And that something is worth fighting for”- Nathan Royal Scott (One Tree Hill 2x22).
You’ve done something in your past and you think you shouldn’t be happy ’cause of it? Your past is haunting you so much that misery and pain is all you have? Has pain being a part of you that a little form of happiness seems strange and wrong to you because it was so unfamiliar? Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote; “Look not mournfully into the past. It comes not back again”. Your past is gone and because present is a gift you have the opportunity of rewriting your past mistake, by living your today avoiding the same mistake and living your life without regret. Regret will only make you bitter about yourself and things around you. Tony Battle once said; “Regret makes you old, and bitterness poisons the people around you”. Reconcile your past with your present and gradually you’ll discover that you are happy. Ida Scott Taylor once wrote; “Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone. And do not be troubled about the future, for it is yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering”. Linderman in Heroes 1x18 said “To be truly happy, a man must live absolutely in the present, with no thought of what’s gone before and no thought of what lies ahead”.
I once asked a little girl what she would like to be in the future and she told me she would like to be happy. It did stroked me, and then I realised no matter who you are, no matter what you do, and the level of your accomplishment, if you are not happy then you’ve not achieved. When all your dreams come true, you find yourself happy. When you accomplished a task, you are happy. Anything you’d do that won’t make you happy, why doing it?
“Happiness comes in many forms- in the company of good friends. In the feeling you get when you make someone else’s dream come true. Or in the promise of hope renewed. It’s okay to let yourself be happy because you never know how fleeting that happiness might be”- Chad Michael Murray.
Avoid bitter people in your life, people that all they do is to make others sad, they only spread bitterness. Haley James Scott said in One Tree Hill 6x02 that “the only people that tear happy people down are those that are unhappy”.
You need to strive to be happy; irrespective of what the world throws at you.
Don’t expect everybody you come across to feel responsible for making you happy. It doesn't work like that.
Only you can make you happy.
It is a personal decision. Happiness might be free but doesn’t come easy. Paul Johansson said, “Happiness doesn’t come cheap. Hell, if it did, we’d all be smiling”.

REMEMBER LIFE’S TOO SHORT, TO FIGHT, TO BE MISERABLE… TO LET THE BITTER ONE’S CHANGE HOW AWESOME YOU ARE.

Dedicated to all unhappy souls... may you find happiness where you least expect.
