TOMORROW IS NOT GUARANTEED

Coach Antwon Taylor wanted to tell Quentin Fields, one of his players how proud he was of him but couldn’t because of the excitement of seeing head coach Lucas Scott back from his sabbatical. “Well, I would see him tomorrow”, he told Luke.
Little Jamie Lucas Scott asked his mom Haley to make a cape for his friend Quentin. After days of making the cape, she finally told her son the cape would ready the following day and would be giving to Q.
Quentin Fields told his teammates he would be the first to get to training the following day. He also assured Nathan Scott he would meet him at Rivercourt the following morning to help him (Nathan) with his recovery and what he called comeback for Nathan.

It was in the middle of the night; head coach Lucas Scott was sleeping when he got a call, just like his assistant Antwon Taylor. Few minutes later, Antwon was at his house asking if he got any call and if it were true. Well, it was, the call was real. Quentin Fields was shot and dead.

TRAGIC, huh? Well, didn’t think of a better way to get you into this than to give you tragedy.
Most times we've failed to appreciate people close to us because we think we have forever to do that. There are times we leave whatever we were supposed to say because we think there would be another day for it. Keith Alan Scott in One Tree Hill 4x10 said that it’s an easy thing, saying “I love you” to people who matter. You never know when you might lose them or when they might lose you.
Many at times, we live our lives as if we’ve been promised forever. As if we are very sure there will be a tomorrow. Many even make promises to start living a better life at a particular time or year. Sometimes I wonder why many live recklessly, is it because they are sure of what will happen in the next hour or so?
Being alive is not a right, it is a privilege, and one should not take it for granted. One should not abuse living. We must therefore live as if the present would be our last, even though the holy book affirms that we shall not die but live to proclaim His glory. Nonetheless, people die everyday, millions die daily and most die with dreams and visions that would have benefited their world and people around them if they were well implemented.
Many on their deathbed wished they had lived better and fruitful lives and eventually die with regrets in their heart. People die with beautiful ideas, amazing dreams are being buried with people everyday. This gives us living an opportunity to start living well, living dreams, implementing ideas and working towards our vision. Oliver Wendell Holmes once said; “many people die with their music still in them. Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it, time runs out”.
Where is your music? What is your music? Have you even started composing them? How will your music sound? Which genre is it? You’ve got it all within you; all you need to do is release it out for yourself, people around you and for the whole world to see. Don’t wait till later, don’t wait till time runs out, let the world feel you.
Live an exemplary life, you are a leader, and people are watching and reading you. A role model- that’s what you are. Say things that matter, tell those people you love that you love them, tell that guy you are proud of him, tell her that she matters. Remember you never know when you might lose them or when they might lose you.
No one lives forever, so remember to tell your family, friends and even the people that you just met that you appreciate their existence. Tell those that you love that you love them. Let go of grudges against other people. Smile at everyone. Do good deeds for one another. Care for those in need. Let go of all the negative thoughts on a person and just be happy yourself. Brooke Davis once asked; “If you had a friend you knew you’d never see again, what would you say? If you could do one last thing for someone you love. What would it be? Say it. Do it. Don’t wait. Nothing lasts forever?”

REMEMBER, EVERY DAY YOU WAIT IS ANOTHER DAY YOU’LL NEVER GET BACK.
